28.17 Carrying of arms by a Muhrim

٢٨۔١٧ باب لُبْسِ السِّلاَحِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ

[Machine] Ikrima said, "When the enemy fears, wear the weapon and redeem." And he was not followed in the ransom.

وَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ إِذَا خَشِيَ الْعَدُوَّ لَبِسَ السِّلاَحَ وَافْتَدَى. وَلَمْ يُتَابَعْ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْفِدْيَةِ.

bukhari:1844ʿUbaydullāh > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq > al-Barāʾ

The Prophet ﷺ assumed Ihram for Umra in the month of Dhul-Qa'da but the (pagan) people of Mecca refused to admit him into Mecca till he agreed on the condition that he would not bring into Mecca any arms but sheathed.  

البخاري:١٨٤٤حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ

عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ؓ اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ فَأَبَى أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ أَنْ يَدَعُوهُ يَدْخُلُ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى قَاضَاهُمْ لاَ يُدْخِلُ مَكَّةَ سِلاَحًا إِلاَّ فِي الْقِرَابِ
