[Machine] He informed him about Aisha's (Aisha's) story, and if he had known about it, he would have turned away from it. And it is possible that he disliked that as a measure that fools might be deceived by, thinking that the beginning of something good is permissible for the prohibited, as he said to Talhah about the ripped garment. البيهقي:٨٩٦٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي أنبأ أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى الدَّيْرَعَاقُولِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أنبأ شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ مِنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ رِيحَ طِيبٍ وَهُوَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَهُمْ حُجَّاجٌ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ مِمَّنْ رِيحُ هَذَا الطِّيبِ؟ قَالَ شَيْءٌ طَيَّبَتْنِي أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ لَعَمْرِي أُقْسِمُ بِاللهِ لَتَرْجِعَنَّ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَغْسِلَهُ فَوَاللهِ لَأَنَ أَجِدَ مِنَ الْمُحْرِمِ رِيحَ الْقَطِرَانِ أَحَبُّ إِلِيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَجِدَ مِنْهُ رِيحَ الطِّيبِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَيُحْتَمَلُ أَنَّهُ لَمْ

يَبْلُغْهُ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ ؓ وَلَوْ بَلَغَهُ لَرَجَعَ عَنْهُ وَيُحْتَمَلُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ ذَلِكَ كَيْلًا يَغْتَرَّ بِهِ الْجَاهِلُ فَيَتَوَهَّمَ أَنَّ ابْتِدَاءَ الطِّيبِ يَجُوزُ لِلْمُحْرِمِ كَمَا قَالَ لِطَلْحَةَ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْمُمَشَّقِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
