[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ had a handkerchief or piece of cloth, so when he performed ablution, he would wipe his face with it. He said, "There was something fragrant in it, and Ibn Ulayyah took it and I did not see it again." The Sheikh said, "And this is if..."  

البيهقي:٨٨٠ – وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ ثنا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ لَهُ مِنْدِيلٌ أَوْ خِرْقَةٌ فَإِذَا تَوَضَّأَ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ فَقَالَ كَانَ فِي قُطَيْنَةٍ فَأَخَذَهُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ فَلَسْتُ أَرْوِيهِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَهَذَا لَوْ  

رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ لَكَانَ إِسْنَادًا صَحِيحًا إِلَّا أَنَّهُ امْتَنَعَ مِنْ رِوَايَتِهِ وَيُحْتَمَلُ أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ عِنْدَهُ بِالْإِسْنَادِ الْأَوَّلِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ بِطَرْفِ ثَوْبِهِ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ قَدْ ذَكَرْنَاهُ فِي بَابِ طَهَارَةِ الْمَاءِ الْمُسْتَعْمَلِ
