[Machine] The people of Yemen used to perform Hajj without taking provisions with them, and they would say, "We rely on Allah." They would perform Hajj to Makkah and ask people for provisions. Then, Allah revealed the verse, "And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is Taqwa (piety)." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 197)  

البيهقي:٨٦٥٠أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي بِنَيْسَابُورَ قَالَا أنبأ أَبُو سَهْلٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوْحٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ يَحُجُّونَ وَلَا يَتَزَوَّدُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ مُتَوَكِّلُونَ فَيَحُجُّونَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ وَيَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَى} [البقرة 197]
