[Machine] Umar was stabbed, and Suhaib said, "Oh my brother!" Umar then said to him, "Oh Suhaib, did you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, the dead person is punished by the weeping of the living'?"  

البيهقي:٧١٦٧ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْمُسْتَمْلِي وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ قَالَا ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا

طُعِنَ عُمَرُ ؓ جَعَلَ صُهَيْبٌ يَقُولُ وَا أَخَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ يَا صُهَيْبُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحِيِّ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْخَلِيلِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُجْرٍ
