Caution: Translations of Quran and Ḥadīth may lead to possible misapplications and misinterpretations. This site is intended for students of sacred knowledge that are proficient in comprehending classical Arabic and have a strong foundation in Islamic sciences. bayhaqi:6144Abū Ṭāhir al-Faqīh And ʾAbū ʿAlī al-Rūdhbārī > Abū Ṭāhir Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan al-Muḥammad Ābādī > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan > Ḥassān b. Ḥassān al-Baṣrī > ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha walking, and a spear would be carried before him. Then it would be set up in front of him during the prayer, and he would take it as a barrier. This was before the buildings were constructed in the mosque. He did this in Arafat as well. The statement "walking" is strange, as I have not written it from the narration of Ibn 'Umar except through this chain, and it is not strong. As for the rest of his words, they are well-known.
