[Machine] I have seen the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being woken up for prayer, and I would hear one of them making a noise, and then they would stand up and pray without performing ablution. Ibn Al-Mubarak said: "This is our practice when we are sitting, and Abdul Rahman bin Mahdi and Al-Shafi'i also narrated this hadith, and their narrations in this regard are mentioned in the books of Khalafiyat."  

البيهقي:٥٩٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحَافِظُ أنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْبَغَوِيُّ نا ابْنُ حُمَيْدٍ يَعْنِي مُحَمَّدًا ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُوقَظُونَ لِلصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ لَأَحَدِهِمْ غَطِيطًا ثُمَّ يَقُومُونَ فَيُصَلُّونَ وَلَا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ هَذَا عِنْدَنَا وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ وَعَلَى هَذَا حَمَلَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَالشَّافِعِيُّ وَحَدِيثَاهُمَا فِي ذَلِكَ مُخَرَّجَانِ فِي الْخِلَافِيَّاتِ
