[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his head to the sky when he prayed, and his eyes would move, looking here and there. Then Allah revealed: "Successful indeed are the believers, those who humble themselves in their prayers" [Surah Al-Mu'minun:2]. So, Ibn 'Awn lowered his head and placed it on the ground. This was narrated from Abu Zaid Sa'id ibn Aws from Ibn 'Awn from Ibn Sirin from Abu Hurairah, and the authentic narration is from Abu Sahl Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Mihrani and Abu Nasr ibn Qatadah who both said: Abu 'Ali Hamid ibn al-Raffa' al-Harawi narrated from Muhammad ibn Yunus who narrated from Sa'id Abu Zaid al-Ansari, and he mentioned it except that he said: "He used to turn his head during prayer, until this verse was revealed: 'Successful indeed are the believers, those who humble themselves in their prayers'" [Surah Al-Mu'minun:1]. So, he lowered his head and described it to us.
