[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray, and sometimes he would touch his beard during his prayer. It is narrated from Muammal ibn Isma'il, from Shu'bah, that he mentioned the man who was not named, and he is 'Amr ibn Hurayth. Sulayman ibn Kathir narrated it from Husayn, from 'Amr ibn 'Abdul Malik ibn Hurayth al-Makhzumi, the son of the cousin of 'Amr ibn Hurayth. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to do this, and it is narrated from another perspective as being weak, and it is said that there is something excessive about one of them, 3432. It is also mentioned from an-Nakha'i that he said, "It used to be said that touching the beard during prayer was either one or leave it." The Shaykh said, "And this is similar to what is narrated about touching the pebble, which is to do it once." Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith informed us that Abu ash-Shaykh informed us that Isma'il ibn 'Abdullah ad-Dabbi informed us that Ishaq ibn Musa al-Khatmi said, "I heard al-Walid ibn Muslim saying, 'I heard 'Isa ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Hakam ibn an-Nu'man ibn Bashir reporting from Nafi' and he did not hear it from him."
