[Machine] We used to come and 'Umar would lead the people in prayer, then he would stay after the bowing (rukoo') and raise his hands until his palms would appear and he would extend his index fingers.  

البيهقي:٣١٤٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيُّ قَالَ

كُنَّا نَجِيءُ وَعُمَرُ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ يَقْنُتُ بِنَا بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ وَيَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ كَفَّاهُ وَيُخْرِجَ ضَبْعَيْهِ
