[Machine] I heard Salim bin Abdullah saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to invoke curse upon Safwan bin Umayyah, Suhail bin Amr, and Harith bin Hisham. Then this Verse was revealed: "It is not for you (O Muhammad) to do anything. [Instead, the matter is for Allah]." (3:128) until His Statement: "the wrongdoers." (3:128) It was narrated to us by Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz, who was informed by Ahmad bin Muhammad An-Nasawi, who narrated from Hammad bin Shaker, who narrated from Muhammad, who narrated from Yahya bin Abdullah, who narrated from Abdullah, who mentioned that. This has been reported from Amr bin Hamzah, from Salim, from his father in a connected chain, except that he mentioned Abu Sufyan instead of Suhail.  

سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو عَلَى صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ وَسُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَالْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ فَنَزَلَتْ {لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ} [آل عمران 128] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {ظَالِمُونَ} [آل عمران 128] 3129 أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّسَوِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ شَاكِرٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ فَذَكَرَهُ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ مَوْصُولًا إِلَّا أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بَدَلَ سُهَيْلٍ
