bayhaqi:3045Abū al-Ḥasan al-Muqriʾ > al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq > Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb > Muḥammad b. Abū Bakr > Muʿtamir > Layth > al-Ḥajjāj > Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Can any of you not move forward or backward or turn to his right or left if he wants to perform voluntary prayers?" It was narrated by Jarir, from Layth, from Hajjaj, from Isma'il ibn Ibrahim, or Ibrahim ibn Isma'il. Al-Bukhari said: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim is more reliable, and there is confusion regarding Layth. Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said: It is Layth ibn Abi Sulaim, a special scholar in this field. Allah knows best.
