[Machine] "He said about this verse, 'And when the Quran is recited, listen to it and be silent' [Al-A'raf 204]: He said, the people used to speak during the prayer, so this verse was revealed. In another narration by Ibn Abadn, he said, they used to speak during the prayer until this verse was revealed.' The Sheikh said and so did Muawiya bin Qurra."  

البيهقي:٢٨٨٧وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عِيَاضٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {وَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنْصِتُوا} [الأعراف 204] قَالَ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ عَبْدَانَ قَالَ كَانُوا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَهَكَذَا قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ
