[Machine] Behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr and Umar, I never heard any of them recite "Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem" before beginning their recitation.  

البيهقي:٢٤٢٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ وَأَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ وَأَبُو صَادِقِ بْنُ أَبِي الْفَوَارِسِ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا رَوْحٌ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ثنا أَبُو نَعَامَةَ الْحَنَفِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ

خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَمَا سَمِعْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ يَقْرَأُ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَكَذَلِكَ  

رَوَاهُ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَبَايَةَ الْحَنَفِيِّ وَزَادَ فِي مَتْنِهِ عُثْمَانَ ؓ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ جَهَرَ بِهَا وَخَالَفَهُمَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ فَرَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
