البيهقي:٢١٧١٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ مُكَاتَبًا قَالَ لِمَوْلَاهُ خُذْ مِنِّي مُكَاتَبَتَكَ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا نُجُومًا فَأَتَى عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ؓ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ خُذْ مُكَاتَبَتَكَ فَقَالَ لَا إِلَّا نُجُومًا فَقَالَ لَهُ هَاتِ الْمَالَ فَجَاءَ بِهِ فَكَتَبَ لَهُ عِتْقَهُ

وَقَالَ أَلْقِهِ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ فَأَدْفَعُهُ إِلَيْكَ نُجُومًا فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ أَخَذَهُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ ؓ نَحْوَهُ كَذَا قَالَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ
