[Machine] The bats were blowing the fire with their mouths while the fireflies were extinguishing it with their wings. Abu Nasr, meaning Abd al-Wahhab ibn Ata, was the bat.  

البيهقي:١٩٣٨١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ أنبأ حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ

كَانَتِ الْأَوْزَاغُ يَوْمَ أُحْرِقَتْ بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ جَعَلَتْ تَنْفُخُ النَّارَ بِأَفْوَاهِهَا وَالْوَطْوَاطُ تُطْفِئُهَا بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا قَالَ أَبُو نَصْرٍ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الْوَهَّابِ بْنَ عَطَاءٍ هُوَ الْخُفَّاشِ
