When a physician consulted the Prophet ﷺ about putting frogs in medicine, he forbade him to kill them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3871)   

البيهقي:١٩٠٠٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فُورَكٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ

سَأَلَ طَبِيبُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنْ ضِفْدَعٍ يَجْعَلُهَا فِي دَوَاءٍ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ قَتْلِهَا

[Machine] A doctor mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a medicine and mentioned that the frog is used in it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited killing the frog.
