bayhaqi:17527Abū Muḥammad Junāḥ b. Nadhīr b. Junāḥ al-Qāḍī Bi-al-Kūfah > Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Duḥaym > Aḥmad b. Ḥāzim > ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Isrāʾīl > Yaḥyá al-Jābir > Abū Mājid

[Machine] A man came from the Muslims with his drunken nephew and said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, my nephew is drunk." He said, "Torture him and shake him and reprimand him." So they did so and took him to prison. Then he called for him the next day and mentioned the conversation about how he should be beaten. Abu Ubaid said, "It is that he should be moved and shaken and reprimanded until the smell comes out of him, so that they know what he has drunk." This refers to "at-taltalah," "attartarah," and "almazmazah," all having the same meaning. Abu Ubaid said, "Some scholars deny this hadith." Shaykh said, "May Allah have mercy on him, due to the weakness of Yahya Al-Jabri and the ignorance of Abu Majid."
