[Machine] During the era of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , women used to sit in seclusion after giving birth for forty days or forty nights, and we used to apply warts on our faces for scars like this.  

البيهقي:١٦٠٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ عَنْ مُسَّةَ الْأَزْدِيَّةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَتِ النُّفَسَاءُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَقْعُدُ بَعْدَ نِفَاسِهَا أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَكُنَّا نَطْلِي وُجُوهَنَا بِالْوَرْسِ مِنَ الْكَلَفِ هَكَذَا  

رَوَاهُ جَمَاعَةٌ عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى وَهُوَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْأَحْوَلُ الْكُوفِيُّ وَقَالَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى وَلَيْسَ بِمَحْفُوظٍ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ أَبُو بَدْرٍ شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى
