[Machine] The passage is from a Hadith and it translates to: "The 'Iddah (waiting period) of a mother after the death of her son is when her master dies, and for a slave woman when she is freed or given as a gift. It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that he said: "A slave woman is purified (from sin) by her menstrual period." It was also narrated from Al-Hasan, 'Ata, Ibn Sireen, and 'Ikrimah that they said: "She is purified (from sin) even if she is a virgin."

عِدَّةُ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ إِذَا مَاتَ سَيِّدُهَا وَالْأَمَةِ إِذَا أُعْتِقَتْ أَوْ وُهِبَتْ حَيْضَةٌ وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ تُسْتَبْرَأُ الْأَمَةُ بِحَيْضَةٍ وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَعَطَاءٍ وَابْنِ سِيرِينَ وَعِكْرِمَةَ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا يَسْتَبْرِئُهَا وَإِنْ كَانَتْ بِكْرًا
