[Machine] "And Abu Zakariyya informed us, from Abu al-Abbas, from al-Rabi', from al-Shafi'i, from Malik, and Abu Ahmad informed us, from Muhammad bin Ja'far, from Muhammad bin Ibrahim, from Ibn Bukayr, from Malik, from 'Abd Rabih bin Sa'id, from Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin al-Harith al-Tamimi, that Nufay'ah was a mukatab (slave who was given the right to buy his freedom) and he used to be owned by Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ . She asked Zaid bin Thabit for a fatwa, and he said, 'I have divorced a free woman twice.' So Zaid bin Thabit said to him, 'It is prohibited for you...'"

وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أنا الرَّبِيعُ أنا الشَّافِعِيُّ أنا مَالِكٌ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ نا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ نا مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيِّ أَنَّ نُفَيْعًا مُكَاتَبٌ كَانَ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ اسْتَفْتَى زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ ؓ فَقَالَ إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَةً حُرَّةً تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكَ
