[Machine] About the Messenger of Allah in the Battle of Tabuk, and he mentioned the narration in its entirety. And the Messenger of Allah came to him and said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah orders you to separate from your wife." So I said, "Should I divorce her or what should I do with her?" So he said, "No, rather separate from her and do not approach her." And he sent to my two companions with the same command. So I said to my wife, "Go to your family and stay with them until Allah resolves this matter."  

البيهقي:١٥٠٠٥ – وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ نا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ نا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ كَعْبٍ قَائِدَ كَعْبٍ حِينَ عَمِيَ مِنْ بَنِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثَهُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَعْتَزِلَ امْرَأَتَكَ فَقُلْتُ أُطَلِّقُهَا أَمْ مَاذَا أَفْعَلُ بِهَا؟ فَقَالَ لَا بَلِ اعْتَزِلْهَا فَلَا تَقْرَبَنَّهَا وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى صَاحِبَيَّ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ فَكُونِي عِنْدَهُمْ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ اللهُ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ فَفِي هَذَا مَعَ الْأَوَّلِ كَالدَّلَالَةِ عَلَى أَنَّ قَوْلَهُ الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ كِنَايَةٌ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِهِ الطَّلَاقَ كَانَ طَلَاقًا وَإِنْ لَمْ يُرِدْهُ لَا يَكُونُ طَلَاقًا وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

"I heard Ka'b narrate the Hadith about when he stayed behind and did not join the Messenger of Allah on the expedition to Tabuk. He said: 'The envoy of the Messenger of Allah came to me and said: "The Messenger of Allah commands you to keep away from your wife." I said: "Shall I divorce her, or what should I do?" He said: "No, just keep away from her and do not approach her." And he sent similar instructions to my two companions. I said to my wife: "Go to your family and stay with them until Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, decides concerning this matter."'"
