bayhaqi:14693Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Aḥmad al-Muqriʾ Ibn al-Ḥamāmī > Aḥmad b. Salmān > ʿAbd al-Malik b. Muḥammad > Abū ʿĀmir al-ʿAqadī > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq > ʿĀmir b. Saʿd al-Bajalī

[Machine] Abdul Malik came to me with his slave girls, hitting the tambourine and singing. So I said, "Do you allow such things while you are the companions of Muhammad ﷺ ?" They said, "He has permitted us to perform at weddings and mourn at the time of calamities." Shirik reported it with the same meaning and mentioned Qarzah and Abu Mas'ood. However, he said, "Except for weeping at the time of calamities." Shirik said, "I saw him saying this statement." He said, "Except for weeping, not wailing."
