[Machine] I have come to you with this money, and I treat it as the guardian of the wealth of the orphan. If anyone is wealthy, let them be abstinent, and if anyone is poor, let them eat in a fair manner. And I do not see a village from which a sheep is taken every day, except that it quickly leads to its destruction.  

البيهقي:١٣٠١٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا رَوْحٌ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ اللَّاحِقِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ لَمَّا بَعَثَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ وَعَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَعُثْمَانَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ بَعَثَ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَعَلَى الْجُيُوشِ وَبَعَثَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ عَلى الْقَضَاءِ وَعَلَى بَيْتِ الْمَالِ وَبَعَثَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ عَلَى مِسَاحَةِ الْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ شَاةً شَطْرُهَا وَسَوَاقِطُهَا لِعَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ وَالنِّصْفُ بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ قَالَ سَعِيدٌ وَلَا أَحْفَظُ الطَّعَامَ قَالَ

نَزَلْتُكُمْ وَإِيَّايَ مِنْ هَذَا الْمَالِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ وَالِي مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ مَنْ كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَنْ كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَمَا أَرَى قَرْيَةً يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ شَاةً إِلَّا كَانَ ذَلِكَ سَرِيعًا فِي خَرَابِهَا
