[Machine] We sent the messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition and we acquired many camels. Each person took a camel, one after another. When we reached our destination, the messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us our arrows, and each of us hit twelve camels except for the camel that was lent to us. The messenger of Allah ﷺ did not blame us or the one who lent it to us. Abdah narrated this from Ibn Ishaq, who mentioned this in detail and said, "Our leader (Amir) slaughtered a camel for each individual, then he mentioned what he meant by that."

البيهقي:١٢٧٩٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الرَّزَّازُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّافِعِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ السِّمَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَأَصَبْنَا نَعَمًا كَثِيرَةً فَأَخَذَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا أَعْطَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سِهَامَنَا فَأَصَابَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَّا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا سِوَى الْبَعِيرِ الَّذِي نُفِّلَ فَمَا عَابَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِي أَعْطَانَا وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ أَتَمَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ فَنَفَّلَنَا أَمِيرُنَا بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a detachment to Najd. I went out along with them, and got abundant riches. Our commander gave each of us a camel as a reward. We then came upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he divided the spoils of war among us. Each of us received twelve camels after taking a fifth of it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not take account of our companion (i.e. the commander of the army), nor did he blame him for what he had done. Thus each man of us had received thirteen camels with the reward he gave.

أبو داود:٢٧٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ الْكِلاَبِيَّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَرِيَّةً إِلَى نَجْدٍ فَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهَا فَأَصَبْنَا نَعَمًا كَثِيرًا فَنَفَّلَنَا أَمِيرُنَا بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ ثُمَّ قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَسَّمَ بَيْنَنَا غَنِيمَتَنَا فَأَصَابَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَّا اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا بَعْدَ الْخُمُسِ وَمَا حَاسَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالَّذِي أَعْطَانَا صَاحِبُنَا وَلاَ عَابَ عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَ مَا صَنَعَ فَكَانَ لِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنَّا ثَلاَثَةَ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا بِنَفْلِهِ
