[Machine] He would strike with his sling according to their worth. It was said to him, "If one of them slips, will there be a compensation for that?" He said, "Indeed, among the eggs, there are those that are watery." Al-Shafi'i said, "Neither we nor they, meaning the Iraqis, know of anyone who has conveyed this statement. We do not affirm it. We say that its price should be paid." Al-Shafi'i said in his book Al-Manasik, "This has been reported from Ali from a weak chain of narrators. The people of knowledge do not establish a narrated tradition like this. Therefore, we have abandoned it because whoever is obligated [to pay] something and does not fulfill it, he is liable whether the item exists or not. He is only to be compensated with valid currency." The sheikh said, "There is no report in what has been mentioned about the hearing of Al-Hasan from Ali. And the narration of Mu'awiya ibn Qura is disconnected, although it is reported in it that this was during the time of the Prophet ﷺ and that the Prophet ﷺ entrusted the questioner to either fast a day or feed a poor person."  

البيهقي:١٠٠٢٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ أنا الرَّبِيعُ قَالَ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ حِكَايَةً عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ فِيمَنْ أَصَابَ بَيْضَ نَعَامٍ قَالَ

يَضْرِبُ بِقَدْرِهِنَّ نُوقًا قِيلَ لَهُ فَإِنْ أَزْلَقَتْ مِنْهُنَّ نَاقَةٌ قَالَ فَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيْضِ مَا يَكُونُ مَارِقًا قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ لَسْنَا وَلَا إِيَّاهُمْ يَعْنِي الْعِرَاقِيِّينَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ عَلِمْنَاهُ يَأْخُذُ بِهَذَا نَقُولُ يَغْرَمُ ثَمَنَهُ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ رَوَوْا هَذَا عَنْ عَلِيٍّ مِنْ وَجْهٍ لَا يُثْبِتُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ بِالْحَدِيثِ مِثْلَهُ؛ وَلِذَلِكَ تَرَكْنَاهُ بِأَنَّ مَنْ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ بِمُغَيَّبٍ يَكُونُ وَلَا يَكُونُ وَإِنَّمَا يُجْزِيهِ بِقَائِمٍ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ لَيْسَ فِيمَا أُورِدُهُ سَمَاعُ الْحَسَنِ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ وَحَدِيثُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ مُنْقَطِعٌ وَقَدْ رَوَى فِيهِ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَدَّ سَائِلَهُ إِلَى صِيَامِ يَوْمٍ أَوْ إِطْعَامِ مِسْكِينٍ
