ahmad:69Sufyān > Ibn Abū Khālid > Abū Bakr b. Abū Zuhayr

Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, how could we be in a good state after this verse? He said: ʿMay Allah have mercy on you, O Abu Bakr. Do you not fall sick? Do you not feel sad? Don't calamities befall you? Do you not...?” He said: Of course. He said: ʿThat is for that. It was narrated that Abu Bakr ath-Thaqafi said: Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, how could we be in a good state after this verse: ʿwhosoever works evil, will have the recompense thereofʿ (an-Nisa' 4:123)?... and he narrated the same Hadeeth  

أحمد:٦٩حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ

أَظُنُّهُقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ الصَّلاحُ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ؟ قَالَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَلَسْتَ تَمْرَضُ؟ أَلَسْتَ تَحْزَنُ؟ أَلَسْتَ تُصِيبُكَ اللَّأْوَاءُ؟ أَلَسْتَ قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ فَإِنَّ ذَاكَ بِذَاكَ

[Machine] It was narrated by Abu Bakr al-Siddiq that he said, "O Messenger of Allah, how is righteousness after this verse 'Whosoever does evil will be recompensed for it'?" He replied, "May Allah have mercy on you, O Abu Bakr! Don't you get sick? Don't you face difficulties? Don't misfortunes befall you? That is how you will be recompensed."  

ابن حبّان:٢٩٢٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ اسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ؓ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ الصَّلَاحُ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ} فَقَالَ «رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَلَسْتَ تَمْرَضُ؟ أَلَسْتَ تَنْصَبُ؟ أَلَسْتَ يُصِيبُكَ اللَّأْوَاءُ؟ فَذَاكَ مَا تُجْزَوْنَ بِهِ»
