[Machine] He married a woman from the Quraysh tribe, but he was not able to spend much time with her because he was preoccupied with fasting and prayer. This was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ and he advised him to fast for three days every month. He said that he could handle more than that, so the Prophet gradually increased the number of fasting days until he told him to fast one day and break his fast the next day. The Prophet also advised him to recite the Quran every month, but he said he could handle more than that. The Prophet then instructed him to recite it every fifteen days, but again he claimed he could handle more. Eventually, the Prophet told him to recite it every week, and finally, he told him to recite it every three days. The Prophet ﷺ said, "For every action, there is a portion, and for every portion, there is a fixed period. Whoever's period aligns with my Sunnah will be successful, and whoever's period is otherwise will be doomed."
