[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ relayed that I said, "I will fast for the entire year and stand in prayer for the whole night." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Is it you who said that you will fast for the entire year and stand in prayer for the whole night?" I replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised, "You are unable to do that. Instead, fast and break your fast, stand in prayer and sleep. Fast for three days every month, as the reward for good deeds is multiplied ten times." He ﷺ then explained its meaning.  

بَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺأَنِّي أَقُولُ لَأَصُومَنَّ الدَّهْرَ وَلَأَقُومَنَّ اللَّيْلَ مَا بَقِيتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَقُولُ أَوْ قُلْتَ لَأَصُومَنَّ الدَّهْرَ وَلَأَقُومَنَّ اللَّيْلَ مَا بَقِيتُ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَقُمْ وَنَمْ وَصُمْ وَأَفْطِرْ وَصُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ فَإِنَّ الْحَسَنَةَ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
