[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the slope of a mountain, and he was standing, praying while they were asleep. He said, "When a snake passed by him", we woke up and he said, "Whoever prevented it from you is the one who prevented you from it." And the verse was revealed to him: {By the winds sent forth one after another} [Surah Al-Mursalaat: 2] So, I grabbed it and it was moist in my hand, or moist with its mouth.  

أحمد:٤٣٣٥حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفْحِ جَبَلٍ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي وَهُمْ نِيَامٌ قَالَ إِذْ مَرَّتْ بِهِ حَيَّةٌ فَاسْتَيْقَظْنَا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ مَنَعَهَا مِنْكُمُ الَّذِي مَنَعَكُمْ مِنْهَا وَأُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ {وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا} [المرسلات 2] فَأَخَذْتُهَا وَهِيَ رَطْبَةٌ بِفِيهِ أَوْ فُوهُ رَطْبٌ بِهَا
