[Machine] We were sitting in the mosque on Friday evening, and a man from the Ansar said, "One of us saw another man with his wife, so he killed him. Should we have killed him if he spoke? Should we have lashed him if he remained silent but was angry?" I swear by Allah, if I become righteous in the morning, I will ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it." So he asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, if one of us sees another man with his wife, and he kills him, should we have killed him? Should we have lashed him if he spoke? Should we have let him remain silent but angry?" O Allah, pass a judgment." So the verse of the Lian (cursing) was revealed. He said, "That man became the first one to be tested with it."
