[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ passed by a dead sheep and asked, 'To whom does this sheep belong?' They replied, 'To Maymuna.' He said, 'Did you not benefit from its skin?'"  

أحمد:٣٠١٦حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِشَاةٍ مَيْتَةٍ فَقَالَ لِمَنْ كَانَتْ هَذِهِ الشَّاةُ؟ فَقَالُوا لِمَيْمُونَةَ قَالَ أَفَلا انْتَفَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ happened to pass by (the dead body) of the goat which belonged to the freed slave-girl of Maimuna and said: Why did you not make use of its skin?

the Prophet passed by a dead sheep that had been thrown aside. He said: "Who does this belong to?" They said: "Maimunah." He said: "Why did she not make use of its skin?" They said: "It is dead meat (i.e., it was not slaughtered properly)." He said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has only forbidden us to eat it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4234)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ عَلَى شَاةٍ مَيِّتَةٍ مُلْقَاةٍ فَقَالَ «لِمَنْ هَذِهِ؟» فَقَالُوا لِمَيْمُونَةَ فَقَالَ «مَا عَلَيْهَا لَوِ انْتَفَعَتْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟» قَالُوا إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ اللهُ أَكْلَهَا»
