[Machine] Narrated by Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , that a man recited the following verse: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it" [Quran 4:123]. He said, "We will be recompensed for every action we do? Then we will be destroyed!" The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ heard about this and said, "Yes, the believers will be recompensed for their actions in this world, through calamities that may afflict their bodies, in the form of what hurts them."  

أحمد:٢٤٣٦٨حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو أَنَّ بَكْرَ بْنَ سَوَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ} [النساء 123] قَالَ إِنَّا لَنُجْزَى بِكُلِّ عَمَلِنَا؟ هَلَكْنَا إِذًا فَبَلَغَ ذَاكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ يُجْزَى بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فِي مُصِيبَةٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ فِيمَا يُؤْذِيهِ

[Machine] A man recited this verse: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it." He then said, "Indeed, we will be recompensed for everything we have done. Will we be destroyed when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reaches this point?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes, he will be recompensed in this worldly life with afflictions that harm his body."  

ابن حبّان:٢٩٢٣أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ بَكْرَ بْنَ سَوَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
