[Machine] The Prophet mentioned wiping in the mosque, meaning wiping over pebbles, and he said: "If you must do it, then only once."

مسلم:٥٤٦a – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ قَالَ

ذَكَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَسْحَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَعْنِي الْحَصَى قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ لاَ بُدَّ فَاعِلاً فَوَاحِدَةً

tirmidhi:380 – al-Ḥusayn b. Ḥurayth > al-Walīd b. Muslim > al-Awzāʿī > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Muʿayqīb

"I asked Messenger of Allah (S) about smoothening the pebbles during Salat. He said: 'If you must do so, then let it be only once.'"

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

الترمذي:٣٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَسْحِ الْحَصَى فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ لاَ بُدَّ فَاعِلاً فَمَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

[Machine] It was said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Does wiping in the mosque refer to wiping over pebbles?" He replied, "If you absolutely must, then only once."
