[Machine] I said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b, "If the wives of the Prophet ﷺ died, would it be permissible for him to get married again?" He replied, "And what would prohibit him from doing so?" I said, "I say this based on the verse, 'O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their due compensation...' (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:52)." He said, "Indeed, this permission was granted only to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a special concession."  

أحمد:٢١٢٠٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنْ زِيَادٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ لَوْ مِتْنَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كُلُّهُنَّ كَانَ يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ؟ قَالَ وَمَا يُحَرِّمُ ذَاكَ عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِقَوْلِهِ {لَا يَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدُ} [الأحزاب 52] قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُحِلَّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ضَرْبٌ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ
