[AI] Ubayy said: By Allah, I know which night the Night of Decree is. Shu‘bah said: Most of my knowledge is that it is the night which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to stand in prayer during; it is the twenty-seventh night. Shu‘bah only doubted about this wording: “It is the night which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us…” And a companion of mine related it to me from him.

Ubayy’s certainty that Laylat al-Qadr is the twenty-seventh night

Ubayy ˹b. Ka‘b˺ said regarding the Night of Decree: “By Allah, I know which it is, and most of my certainty is that it is the night which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to stand in prayer during; it is the twenty-seventh night.”

Shu‘bah only doubted this wording: “It is the night which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us regarding.” He said: “And a companion of mine narrated it to me from him.”
