[Machine] We were in the city and there was a lot of dates. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from eating dried dates. A man came to him and asked him about his old mother, whether he should offer her wine as she does not eat food. Maqil prohibited him.  

أحمد:٢٠٢٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ عَوْفٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَسْرِيُّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ مَعْقِلَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ عَنِ الشَّرَابِ فَقَالَ

كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَتْ كَثِيرَةَ التَّمْرِ فَحَرَّمَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَضِيخَ وَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ أُمٍّ لَهُ عَجُوزٍ كَبِيرَةٍ أَيَسْقِيهَا النَّبِيذَ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ؟ فَنَهَاهُ مَعْقِلٌ
