[Machine] I am a man from the people of Khurasan, and indeed our land is a cold land. He mentioned the types of alcoholic beverages, so he said, "Stay away from whatever intoxicates from grapes, dates, or anything similar to that." He said, "What do you say about wine made from dates?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wine made from dates."  

أحمد:٢٠٠٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ

إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ وَإِنَّ أَرْضَنَا أَرْضٌ بَارِدَةٌ فَذَكَرَ مِنْ ضُرُوبِ الشَّرَابِ فَقَالَ اجْتَنِبْ مَا أَسْكَرَ مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ مَا تَقُولُ فِي نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ
