[Machine] We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about three matters, and he did not grant us permission in any of them. We asked him to allow us to go back to Abu Bakrah, who was a slave but had embraced Islam before us. He said, "No, he is Allah's freed slave, then the freed slave of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ." Then we asked him to give us permission to use water in winter, as our land was cold and we needed water for purification. He did not grant us permission. Then we asked him to grant us permission to hunt using a hunting dog, but he did not grant us permission in that either.

[Machine] We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ three times for permission, but he did not grant us permission. So we said, "Indeed, our land is a cold land." We asked him for permission in matters of purification, but he did not grant us permission. We asked him to allow us to use the wild animals for hunting, but he did not grant us permission for one hour. And we asked him to send Abu Bakrah back to us, but he refused and said, "He is the emancipated slave of Allah and the emancipated slave of His Messenger." Abu Bakrah had gone to the Prophet ﷺ when he was besieging Ta'if, and he accepted Islam.
