[Machine] I heard him recite, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, on the day of the conquest. If it were not for people gathering around me, I would have mentioned to you the recitation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "He recited Surah Al-Fath." He said, "If it were not for people gathering around me, I would have mentioned to you what 'Abdullah, meaning Ibn Mughaffal, said: How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite? And he said, "With a melodious and rhythmic voice." He then returned to it.  

أحمد:١٦٧٨٩حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ الْمُزَنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَلَوْلَا أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ النَّاسُ عَلَيَّ لَحَكَيْتُ لَكُمْ قِرَاءَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ النَّاسُ عَلَيَّ لَحَكَيْتُ لَكُمْ مَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُغَفَّلٍ كَيْفَ قَرَأَ رَسُولُاللهِ ﷺ وقَالَ بَهْزٌ وَغُنْدَرٌ قَالَ فَرَجَّعَ فِيهَا

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ recited on his ride Surat al Fath during a journey in the year of the Conquest (of Mecca), and he repeated (the words) in his recitation. Mu'awiya said: If I were not afraid that the people would crowd around me, I would have given a demonstration of (the Prophet's) recitation before you.

سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيَّ يَقُولُ قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَرَجَّعَ فِي قِرَاءَتِهِ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَوْلاَ أَنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ عَلَىَّ النَّاسُ لَحَكَيْتُ لَكُمْ قِرَاءَتَهُ

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest of Makkah riding on his camel, reciting Surah Al-Fath. Ibn Mughaffal recited it and then returned. Mu'awiyah said, 'If it were not for the people, I would have taken you to the one who mentioned this from the Prophet ﷺ .' He said something about the Prophet ﷺ carrying him on his camel. Then he recited Surah Al-Fath and returned in it. Abu Iyad said, 'If it were not for the fear of people gathering around me, I would have returned as he did.'"
