ahmad:13644 – ʿAffān > ʿAbdullāh b. Bakr / al-Muzanī Qālasamiʿt ʿAṭāʾ / Ibn Abū Maymūnah > And Lā Aʿlamuh Illā > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , never sought retribution for himself except that he commanded for forgiveness. Ibn Bakr said, "I used to narrate to him (the Prophet) from Anas and they said to me about Anas, there is no doubt in him," so I said, "I only know it (the narration) from Anas."  

أحمد:١٣٦٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي الْمُزَنِيَّ قَالَسَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ يُحَدِّثُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يُرْفَعْ إِلَيْهِ قِصَاصٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَمَرَ بِالْعَفْوِ قَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ فَقَالُوا لِي عَنْ أَنَسٍ لَا شَكَّ فِيهِ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَنَسٍ

[Machine] "What was never presented to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , as a case of retribution except that he commanded forgiveness in it. I asked 'Affan, "Who doubts it?" He replied, "Abdullah said to me, 'I used to speak about Anas, and they would say to me, 'Do not have doubts about him.' So I said, 'I do not know,' and he was a cautious and intelligent man.'"

مَا رُفِعَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قِصَاصٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَمَرَ فِيهِ بِالْعَفْوِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَفَّانَ مَنْ يَشُكُّ فِيهِ؟ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ كُنْتُ أَقُولُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ فَقَالُوا لِي لَا تَشُكَّ فِيهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَعْلَمُ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مُتَوَقِّيًا كَيِّسًا
