[Machine] I said, "By Allah, no leader comes upon us except that he is more evil than the previous one, and no year passes except that it is worse than the previous one." He (the Prophet ﷺ) said, "If it were not for something I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would have said the same thing. But I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Among your leaders there will be a leader who will squander wealth excessively and will not count it. A man will come to him and ask him, and he will say, 'Take,' and he will stretch out his garment and gather it in.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then grabbed a thick woolen garment that was upon him and demonstrated how that man will gather his spoils. Then he gathered the edges towards himself (showing that the leader will take all the wealth for himself), and said, 'Then he will go away.'"  

قُلْتُ وَاللهِ مَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْنَا أَمِيرٌ إِلَّا هُوَ شَرٌّ مِنَ الْمَاضِي وَلَا عَامٌ إِلَّا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ مِنَ الْمَاضِي قَالَ لَوْلَا شَيْءٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَقُلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ وَلَكِنْسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أُمَرَائِكُمْ أَمِيرًا يَحْثِي الْمَالَ حَثْيًا وَلَا يَعُدُّهُ عَدًّا يَأْتِيهِ الرَّجُلُ يَسْأَلُهُ فَيَقُولُ خُذْ فَيَبْسُطُ الرَّجُلُ ثَوْبَهُ فَيَحْثِي فِيهِ وَبَسَطَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِلْحَفَةً غَلِيظَةً كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ يَحْكِي صَنِيعَ الرَّجُلِ ثُمَّ جَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ أَكْنَافَهَا قَالَ فَيَأْخُذُهُ ثُمَّ يَنْطَلِقُ
