[Machine] In Basra, there was a judge who was called Abu Salim. He mentioned a story from his knowledge and said, "In a mosque of some elders, Yunus said, and I sat with him. He said that it reached him that someone was praying and came across this verse, 'Couches lined with brocade' [Ar-Rahman 54]. So, he said, 'O Lord, these couches, what about the evident signs?' He was then called out without knowing who called him, 'The evident signs are the satisfaction of Allah.' And he used to narrate in Persian."
كَانَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ قَاضٍ يُكَنَّى أَبَا سَالِمٍ فَذَكَرَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ قَالَ فَكَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَعْضِ [143] الْأَشْيَاخِ قَالَ يُونُسُ وَقَدْ جَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي فَأَتَى عَلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {فُرُشٌ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسِتَبْرَقٍ} [الرحمن 54] فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ هَذِهِ الْبَطَائِنُ فَكَيْفَ الظَّوَاهِرُ فَنُودِيَ وَلَا يَدْرِي مَنْ نَادَاهُ الظَّوَاهِرُ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ يَقُصُّ بِالْفَارِسِيَّةِ
