الزهد لأحمد:٩٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ فُضَيْلٍ عِنْدَ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ فَتَحَدَّثَ سُفْيَانُ بِحَدِيثٍ فِيهِ ذِكْرُ النَّارِ وَفِي يَدِ عَلِيٍّ قِرْطَاسٌ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مَرْبُوطٌ فَشَهَقَ شَهْقَةً وَقَعَ وَرَمَى بِالْقِرْطَاسِ أَوْ وَقَعَ مِنْ يَدِهِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ سُفْيَانُ فَقَالَ

لَوْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ هَاهُنَا مَاحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ فَمَا أَفَاقَ إِلَّا بَعْدَمَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ
