الزهد لأحمد:٦٨٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ قَالَ لَقِيتُ عَلِيًّا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ

يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ مَا بَطَا بِكَ عَنَّا أَحُبُّ عُثْمَانَ؟ أَمَا الْآنَ قُلْتَ ذَاكَ لَقَدْ كَانَ أَوْصَلَنَا لِلرَّحِمِ وَأَتْقَانَا لِلَّهِ ﷻ
