ahmad-zuhd:670ʿAbdullāh > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar b. Muḥammad b. Abān b. Ṣāliḥ b. ʿUmayr > Ibn al-Mubārak > al-Zubayr b. ʿAbdullāh from my father

[Machine] To find him awake, so he calls him and gives him his food, and he fasts all his life.  

الزهد لأحمد:٦٧٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبَانَ بْنِ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا جَدِّي «أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ مَا كَانَ يُوقِظُ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِلَّا

أَنْ يَجِدَهُ يَقْظَانَ فَيَدَعُوهُ فَيُنَاوِلُهُ وُضُوءَهُ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ»
