الزهد لأحمد:٦٥٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ رَأَى عَلَى عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ قَمِيصًا طَوِيلَ الْكُمِّ فَدَعَا بِشَفْرَةٍ لِيَقْطَعَهُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِ أَصَابِعِهِ فَقَالَ عُتْبَةُ «يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي أَسْتَحِي

أَنْ يُقْطَعَ أَقْطَعُهُ فَتَرَكَهُ»
