[Machine] I arrived and saw people holding plates in their hands. Umar called me and I came to him. He asked for some bread and oil. I said to him, "Did you prevent me from eating bread and meat and invited me over for this?" He said, "I invited you to have a meal. As for this, it is the food of the Muslims."  

الزهد لأحمد:٦٤٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

أَقْبَلْتُ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمُ الْقِصَاعُ فَدَعَانِي عُمَرُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَدَعَا بِخُبْزٍ غَلِيظٍ وَزَيْتٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ أَمَنَعْتَنِي أَنْ آكُلَ مِنَ الْخُبْزِ وَاللَّحْمِ وَدَعَوْتَنِي عَلَى هَذَا؟ قَالَ «أَنَا دَعَوْتُكَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ فَأَمَّا هَذَا فَطَعَامُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»
