ahmad-zuhd:466ʿAbdullāh > Bī > Hārūn b. Maʿrūf > Ḍamrah > Ibn ʿAṭāʾ from his father

[Machine] "Sulaiman ﷺ used to weave baskets with his own hands and eat barley bread with the husk, and he used to feed the poor among the Children of Israel."  

الزهد لأحمد:٤٦٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ضَمْرَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«كَانَ سُلَيْمَانُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَعْمَلُ الْخُوصَ بِيَدِهِ وَيَأْكُلُ خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ بِالنَّوَى وَيُطْعِمُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْجَوْلَذِيَّ»
