ahmad-zuhd:419ʿAbdullāh > Bī > Ismāʿīl > Yūnus > al-Ḥasan

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah have mercy on Yusuf. If it wasn't for his statement, he would have stayed in prison longer than he did. His statement was 'Mention me to your master [i.e. the king]' (Surah Yusuf 42). Then Al-Hasan would cry and say, 'And when any matter (pertaining to us) is decreed, we're scared of the people.'  

الزهد لأحمد:٤١٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ

قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ يُوسُفَ لَوْلَا كَلِمَتُهُ مَا لَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ طُولَ مَا لَبِثَ قَوْلُهُ {اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ} [يوسف 42] ثُمَّ يَبْكِي الْحَسَنُ وَيَقُولُ وَنَحْنُ إِذَا نَزَلَ بِنَا أَمْرٌ فَزِعْنَا إِلَى النَّاسِ
